Then access the template in the resources section to develop your ‘draft’ UBD unit. You can create your unit plan on any content area, but be sure to fill out completely the information for stage 1: goals, standards, understandings, essential questions, knowledge and skills. Email it to me for feedback when you’re done.

Course by Arrangement Outline
The overall goal of the class is to create a unit / lesson plan following the Understanding by Design model that effectively integrates technology. To complete the course, you'll have to submit:

You can review the final benchmark assignment, rubric and template in the course resources section on the right side of the blog. Although this is a course by arrangement, you'll notice I've added a few times to get some specific guidance and feedback to make sure you are on track. Of course I can answer any specific questions you have along the way. The outline (open for change depending on how you want to proceed):
- Read Put Understanding First (resources section)
- Read Understanding by Design, 2nd edition, chapters 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 (available online here's how)
- View overview PPT of Stage 1
- Create sample UBD unit of Stage 1 only (your choice of topics - Submit (email me) for feedback
- Read UBD chapters 7, 9, and 11
- Review overview PPT of Stage 2 and Stage 3
- Update draft to include stages 2 and 3. - Submit (email me) for feedback
- TPACK Overview and VoiceThread Project. - Submit (email me) for grade
- Complete Benchmark Assignment
